IOMAXIS GREENHOUSE GAS – MONITORING AND CONTROLS.

IOMAXIS utilized “International GHG Protocol” documents as our standard and to establish our procedures. Similarly, our energy value chains analysis and effect mitigation actions are also based on the Global Standards. IOMAXIS follows the “Built on GHG Protocol” review practices, recognizing business sector guidance, product rules, measurement metrics, and reporting tools that are in conformance with the latest GHG Protocol accounting standards.

IOMAXIS calculated GHG emissions from specific sources according to the US-national and other internationally-established protocols. IOMAXIS is categorized as a Technical and Professional Services Supplier and, therefore, adheres to the GHG Scope 2 Guidance.

IOMAXIS’ CALCULATION OF EMISSIONS ESTIMATES

For IOMAXIS, the aggregate US Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions are calculated in accordance with the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard, and the USEPA Calculation Guides. IOMAXIS calculated 2022 GHG emissions from domestic US electricity consumption using USEPA’s eGRID emission factors (based on 2020 data) published in November 2022, utilizing the US average electricity usage emissions of 0.818 lbs CO2e per kWh (0.371 kgs CO2e per kWh). Source: EPA Emissions Factors for Greenhouse Gases Inventories, 2022

Below are IOMAXIS’ Emissions Calculations basis for 2022, based on our 2022 (initial) Facility and Consumption Inventory.

CALCULATION METHODOLOGY

Scope 1: Fleet Vehicles and Generators: For IOMAXIS, during 2022, we owned, leased, or used NO fleet vehicles at any of our local offices. IOMAXIS directly purchases and consumes no diesel fuel for use in emergency generators.

Scope 2: Facilities – US and International: IOMAXIS U.S. real estate holdings comprise approximately 335,200 square feet of leased space. We neither own nor manage any of the buildings we occupy, so consequently, all facilities emissions fall within Scope 2.

We calculate these emissions by an aggregation of the power and energy annual bills from the supplying agents, or in a few cases estimating electrical consumption based on the number of occupied square feet in our overall domestic portfolio.

In FY2022, we were able to access utility bill data for ten IOMAXIS facilities, comprising nearly 88 percent of our total leased square footage. For these facilities, we were able to retrieve actual kWh consumption, as opposed to estimating using the aforementioned “mean” process.

After kWh consumption was determined, for U.S. facilities, we used the GHG emissions factors from the USEPA 2022 Emissions and Generation Resource Integrated Database to calculate each building’s emissions. The formula we used to calculate emissions is: GHG emissions = Electricity consumed (in kWh) x EPA US-regional GHG emissions factor.

At present, MAXISIQ has no foreign or international facilities, but were that to evolve in the future, we will simply substitute the USEPA regional emission factors with the contemporary

International Energy Agency (IEA) CO2 emissions factors specific to each country or locale. Emissions, as shown, in all cases in the calculations include CO2.

Not completed for this initial 2022 GHG Report, but planned for the future will be a formal review and certification of our Scope 2 emissions methodology and calculations, with verification by Apex Companies, LLC, or a similarly USEPA-credentialed organization.

CONCLUSION

IOMAXIS certifies that the scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions included here: http://www.iomaxis.com/federal.html were calculated in accordance with the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard.
